Description

A ticket for Brindlewood Bay: A Night at the (Whaling) Museum

2-4 players - 11 May 2022

The Murder Mavens are a book group of retired women who love reading murder mysteries, and solving them. Here, a charity event at the Brindlewood Bay Whaling Museum turns bloody and who better to solve it than a cosy group of old ladies?

You’ll meddle in local affairs, show up the bungling local police, solve a murder and possibly scratch the surface of a much stranger conspiracy under the dark heart of Brindlewood Bay. Characters will interact with locations and suspects, gathering up clues before presenting their theories and seeing if they can solve the mystery.

This game is Murder She Wrote, mixed with Shadow Over Innsmouth, keeping things cosy even when there’s a dash of horror under the surface.

Game Details
We’ll create Mavens together and play through a narrative-heavy mystery RPG. The players and GM won’t know the solution, but as the Mavens meddle their way through the mystery, clues will present themselves. Players will answer leading questions to help build the setting, then use a “Theorise” roll, incorporating as many clues as they can to prove that their solution is the right one.

Even if you can solve the mystery, can you stop the murderer before they kill again?

You’ll need three six-sided dice, although I’ll be bringing a lot of them, as well as cards to help make a conspiracy board to help the theories come together.

As cosy a game as this is, it will involve murder and strange forces. We’ll be using safety tools such as lines & veils to make sure everyone has fun.
